Allen Hoy Hollowell

September 25, 1950 — November 15, 2020

In Loving Memory Allen Hoy Hollowell was the youngest of 13 children born to John Eugene Hollowell and Susie Bell Croney Hollowell on September 25, 1950 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.

He left Hopkinsville to join his mom in California in 1969. Soon after arriving in Bakersfield he met the love of his life Beverly Jean Taylor and they were united in marriage December 23, 1970. To this union three children were born Louvenia (Vennie), Christie and Beverly Joy (BJ). They later divorced but remained the best of friends.

Allen worked in construction for over 50 years and later as a gardener. He didn't believe in retirement and worked until he could no longer work. The highlight of working in construction was that it gave him the opportunity to work closely with his nephews and family.

Allen loved his family and becoming a grandfather changed his life. Each year around Christmas his grandchildren spent the night at grandpa's house. It was not unusual for them to leave with a bag of cakes and candy. He also enjoyed spending time with Beverly and his girls Vennie, Christie and BJ. His love for his sister Susie, nephews and nieces was unparalleled and the love they showed him kept him going especially towards the end of his life. He spent the last moments of his life in the arms of his family at his second home in Hayward, CA.

He leaves to cherish his memory a loving ex-wife Beverly Hollowell, daughters Louvenia Hollowell, Christie Webb (James), Beverly Joy Moland (Kevin); sister Susie Davis (Lee), brother Charles Hollowell, brother-in-law Charles Eddie Brim; grandchildren Kaylie Moland, Alanna Moland, Lynnete Moland, Ariana Webb, Briana Webb, Kevin Allen Moland. A host of nieces; nephews, cousins and friends. Allen will be truly missed.
