Angel Acosta

Angel Acosta, 58, passed away on September 9th, 2023, at home in Shafter, California. He was born on June 30th, 1965, in Bakersfield, California to Eliu and Teresa Acosta. Angel grew up in Shafter, California. He graduated from Shafter High School in 1983. He attended college at DeVry University in Bakersfield, California where he received an Associates in Business Management. He worked for Xerox and XIT Solutions as an Account Manager for over 20 years. Angel married Rosa Lopez in 1998. They were happily married for 25 years. Angel was a member of the Shafter Recreation Coaches, Knights Of Columbus, STG and Quakes Basketball Leagues. He enjoyed all sports, favoriting basketball, the Los Angeles Lakers, and coaching children. Angel is survived by his spouse Rosa Acosta, his children, Vanessah Chelsea Angelina & Evolette Acosta, Eric Mark & Erika Gonzales. His grandchildren Acen, Jett, Apollo & David. His nieces, nephews, and generations of athletes coached by him. Angel was preceded in death by his father, Eliu Ortiz Acosta. A visitation will be held at Basham & Lara Funeral Care ,343 State Ave, Shafter CA 93263 on Monday September 18th, 5:00pm - 8:00pm. A rosary & funeral service will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 900 H St, Bakersfield CA on Tuesday, September 19th, 1:30pm. The family respectfully asks not to be visited after.
