Angela (Angi/AJ) Dawn Putney, 50, passed from this life on November 30, 2021, at Adventist Health Hospital in Bakersfield, California, surrounded by her husband and sister. Angi was born on June 28, 1971, in Bakersfield, California to Don and Jackie (Carter) Collins. Angi lived in Bakersfield the majority of her life. She was a graduate of Foothill High School in 1989. Angi also attended San Joaquin Community College. She made her career at Capital Dental as a Team Operations Specialist for the last 19 years. Angi married Tom Putney on November 29, 2008. Tom had 3 children, who became Angi’s bonus children whom she loved as her own. In 2012 God blessed her and Tom with their son, Colton Ray Putney. Angi attended church at Olive Knolls Church of the Nazarene. Colton also attends Olive Knolls Christian School, where she instantly grew a church and school family. Angi’s family was her life. She was a kind and gentle soul with a heart of gold and a smile that would light up a room. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved going to church, going on school field trips with Colton, camping trips, BBQ’s., watching Colton ride his horse and supporting all her kids in their hobbies. She was preceded in death by her parents, Don Collins, and Jackie Carter; her maternal grandparents, Everett and Evelyn Carter; paternal grandparents, Elijah and Ada Collins; and a nephew, Sean Obra. She is survived by her husband, Tom Putney; son, Colton Putney of the home; her three bonus children, Kylie Clarke of Orange County, CA, Daniel Putney and wife, Lisandra of Bakersfield, CA, Dawson Putney of Wister, OK; one sister, Heather O’Neal and husband, Ray of Pryor, OK; one brother, Chuck Obra of Bakersfield; and a host of other family members.
