Anita June Cornell

Anita June Cornell, 62, of Bakersfield, California passed away on March 27, 2017. June was born in Bakersfield on May 27, 1954. She graduated from East Bakersfield High School in 1972. June was married to Jeff Cornell May 24, 1986; they were married 30 years. She worked as an Office Manager for Youth for Christ Kern County for 12 years. She enjoyed loving and serving others. For over 30 years "Miss June" taught many children in Sunday School. She was actively involved in Bible Study Fellowship and the Media Ministry of Valley Baptist Church. June is survived by her husband, Jeff; children, Sarah, Rebekah, and Jon (Caralee); as well as, other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her beloved aunt Lavetta Anderson and parents, George and Joy Loubey. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on April 6, 2017, at Valley Baptist Church. Pastor Phil Neighbors of Valley Baptist Church will be officiating. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Youth for Christ Kern Country located at 2131 California Ave.
