Anna Teresa Sanchez

Anna Teresa Sanchez 67 passed away on 3/21/25 at her niece’s home in Bakersfield, Ca. She was born on 10/31/57 in Bakersfield, Ca to John B. Sanchez and Carmen R. Sanchez.

Anna who was known to family and friends as Terry grew up in Bakersfield Ca. She attended West high school until she joined job corp at the age of 15 and then proceeded working full time to help her family as a CNA until the age of 18. Terry then went into a career in retail for 17 years.

Terry married Robert Gonzalez in 1976 in Bakersfield Ca. They were married for 17 years. Terry was also a member of Valley Bible Fellowship.

Terry enjoyed spending time with her family, loved being the fun aunt to all her nieces and nephews, camping in her younger years, cruising with great music and was known for her great love of dogs.

Terry is survived by her brothers and sisters

William Cardiel, Sammy Cardiel and Mary Guillen of El Paso Texas, Santos/(Elva) Rodriguez, John/(Esther) Sanchez, Olivia/(Paul) Terrazas, Carmen/(Richard) Aguirre, Pepe/(Mechelle) Sanchez, Martha/(Valente) Fonseca of Bakersfield California and numerous nieces and nephews.

Terry is preceded in death by her parents John and Carmen Sanchez, brothers Jose and Ernie Cardiel and her sister Rita Ontiveros.

A funeral service will be held at Basham funeral home at 3312 Niles Street, Bakersfield Ca. 93306 on April 3rd, 2025 at 10:00 am with visitation prior to service from 9:00am-10:00am where the family will be greeting friends and relatives. Burial will follow the funeral at Greenlawn Southwest Cemetery 2739 Panama Lane Bakersfield Ca. 93313. A Celebration of life reception will follow graveside service at Valley Bible Fellowship in Station 3:16 at 2300 E. Brundage Lane Bakersfield Ca. 93307.
