Anton Marion Peters Jr. "Tony"
August 14, 1925 - February 23, 2019
Anton Marion Peters Jr. "Tony" was born August 14, 1925 in Lehigh, Oklahoma, the only child to Anton and Myrtle (Hampton) Peters. Tony passed from Bakersfield, CA on to Heaven on February 23, 2019, at the age of 93. Tony was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy as a Carpenters Mate Third Class from 1943 to 1945 . In 1948, Tony married Ferne Marie Slusser of Lamont, CA. They were blessed with two children. He started his business Tony's Cabinet Shop in 1952. The cabinet shop continues to be operated by his son, Anthony and grandsons, Chad and Justin, three generations of cabinet-makers. He was a man with a God given talent for building and designing, he never really "retired" from his profession. Tony was a lifetime member of the Pro Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) since 1957. He was a professional team roper and a "true cowboy." Tony had a special love for fishing and his trips to Topock, AZ on the Colorado River with Anthony, Chad, and Justin. Tony gave his life to Christ at the early age of twelve and today is in the very presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He would tell everyone how blessed his life was. Tony is preceded in death by his parents and Ferne Peters, his wife of forty-seven years. He is survived by his daughter and son-n-law, Gail and Richard Villalovos; his son and daughter-n-law, Anthony and Vickie Peters; grandsons and their wives, Chad and Stephanie Peters, Justin and Barbara Peters; grandson, Nicholas Villalovos; granddaughters, Danielle Adams and husband Kenny, and Kristian Villalovos; great grandchildren, Cohen, Brock and Paisley Peters. Special thanks to Irene Romero for her love and care for our "Dad and Pa Tony." Graveside Services will be held Monday March 4, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park Bakersfield, CA.
