Arcelia A. Ortega, 76, of Bakersfield, California, passed away on August 2, 2023. She was born in Juarez, Mexico, and was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Arcelia was a wonderful and loving mother to her five children: Carlos, Diana, Laura, Linda, and Evelyn. She cherished her role as a grandmother to her grandchildren: Andrea, Steven, Adriana, Thomas Jr., Samantha, Celeste, Gary, Cristina, Leah, and Gracie. She also adored her great-grandchildren: Alma, Magnolia, Alexander, Benjamin, Jordan, Ariana, Landon, and Adalynn. Arcelia had a special bond with her sisters Josephina Rivera and Olga Lopez, and her brothers Victor Rivera, Gilberto Rivera, and Guadalupe Rivera. Arcelia was known for her kind and caring nature. She had a deep love for her family and always remembered every family member's birthday. She enjoyed reading the bible, going to church, and praying for the homeless. Arcelia was an intelligent and easy-going person who had a strong sense of integrity. She was sociable and cherished the time spent with her loved ones. Arcelia received her education in Juarez, Mexico, attending primary school and high school there. She had a strong faith and worshipped at Our Lady of Guadalupe. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Catholic Charities in memory of Arcelia Ortega. Arcelia Ortega will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. Her kind spirit and loving nature will forever be remembered.
