Art passed peacefully from this world in the early morning hours of December 2nd 2018.
His desire to move into the next phase of his Spiritual Journey was accomplished.
Art was born in Loveland Colorado on August 25, 1940. The oldest of three children to Audra and Helen Hostmyer.
They moved to Bakersfield California in 1943. Art graduated from BHS and joined the Marine Corp. in 1959. He was an MP, and was honorably discharged in 1963. He attended Bakersfield Junior College and played football. He joined the Bakersfield Fire Department in October of 1968 and retired in December 2003.
Art is predeceased by his Parents, brother Chuck, sister Linda, and niece Robin.
He is survived by his children, Michelle Kozloski (Stephen), Tracy, Scott and granddaughter Sarah.
Art had many dear friends from the Fire Department as well as the 24 Hour Fitness Gym he frequented.
They were his extended family, and he cherished them. Too many to list, but YOU know who you are!
Art also remained close friends with his X wife Diane Heber-Pinson and her husband Arnold.his " Husband-In-Law".
Art will be remembered for his great sense of humor, his deep devotion to those he loved, and to his total selflessness.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 12, 2019 at the Fireman's Hall located at7320 Wible Rd. The "Gathering and Dedication" will begin at 4:00 p.m., followed by Dinner and a Roast. PLEASE RSVP if you are planning to stay for the Dinner and Roast :805-546-8198. Please bring your favorite story and any pictures you wish to share.
