Billie Ruth Toney
November 8th, 1944 - June 30th, 2017
Billie Ruth Primous Toney Daniels was born on November 8, 1944 to Earnest R. Primous, Sr. and Lullie Mae Douglas. She was the fourth child of eight siblings. Billie was born in Calvert, Texas. Approximately in 1951, she attended W.D. Spigner School in Calvert prior to her family moving to Arizona. Years later, her mother passed away and that traumatic experience divided the siblings, which left them seeking alternative homes. Billie moved to Phoenix, Arizona and later migrated to California. There, she would take residence and guidance with her Uncle Luther and Aunt Annie B. Graham. It was while she attended Centennial High School in Compton, CA that she met Wilfred James Toney. Soon after their meeting, she married Wilfred James Toney. To that union; they were blessed to have two children: Angela Benita (who precedes her in death) and Andre' James Toney. Billie loved her children and raised them in the admiration of the Lord. Family meant the world to Billie. Her house was the "go to place" to be. Her gift to cook was the "hook" to bring family together in love and laughter. Everyone can agree that God gave her a special gift to cook. Her kitchen, was filled with seasoned pots and pans, from her stove to the B.B.Q. Pit, which was smoke filled with meat; all gathered and anxiously waited to enjoy her gift and treats. Billie's skill as a beautician was developed while attending Flavio's Beauty College in Lynwood, CA. With her hair and nails intact, she earned the "DIVA" status. To Billie, family values and ties were strong. God had chosen her to become the primary care provider for her grandmother, Elnora Douglas as well as her sister, Delores Jean. She committed her time to care for her grandmother until Ms. Douglas' death, after which she continued to care for her sister, "Jean". In Billie's eyes, "Jean" became her priority and she nurtured her as such. These two were "adjoined at the hip". Billie cared for Jean with all she had to offer, while focusing her attention on the health and wellbeing of her son, Andre', and her grand-daughter, Candace. She guided them through their storms through support and prayer. Their burdens became her target of prayer. Billie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age from her roots at Saint Philip Lutheran Church to her final home at The People's Missionary Baptist Church; Problems stood still and pain was released as songs were sung and prayers were lifted up. She took every opportunity to give all praises to God, for his goodness and mercy! Having a spiritual foundation, she continually placed God at the forefront of her life as she endured the test and trials that life would bring; she continued to seek guidance and spiritual growth. Seeking continued spiritual guidance, Billie moved to Bakersfield, California and united with The People's Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Pastor Kimbrough. She served for decades and was faithful until death. While in Bakersfield, she met and married, Eddie Daniels, which created a blended family. In her early years, Billie was a beautician and was very thoughtful in her appearance. Her style and sassiness caught the eye of Eddie and their marriage would last throughout the years. Needless to say, Eddie and Billie endured the test of time, and they remained in church. Each on the same row, they listened to receive God's word from their Pastor, Reverend Dr., V.K. Jones and his ministerial staff. Billie loved her Pastor and her church family. She was active within the ministries such as the choir and feeding of the homeless and visually impaired residents. Memorial Day weekend would be her last church attendance, and with her husband and family on the row once again, she lifted up praise to God and issued her hugs and said, "See you later" to her church family. To conclude, she has finished her course. No more pain or suffering shall she endure. She now leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Eddie Daniels, son, Andre' Toney, grand-daughter, Candace Davis, three sisters: Dorothy Faye Rose, Los Angeles, CA., Delores Jean Douglas, Bakersfield, CA. and Gwendolyn Delores Primous, Stockton, CA. one brother, Clayborn Dewayne Primous, Stockton, CA., one God-daughter, Beverly Ann Griffin, one God-son, Dewayne, three step children: Donte', Dana, and Tamy Daniels, one brother-in-law, Curtis Daniels, and a host of God-grandchildren, God-great grandchildren, step grandchildren, relatives and friends. She is now waiting in the spirit to meet her parents, Lullie & Earnest, Sr., daughter, Angela Toney, two brothers, Mr. Primous, and Earnest R. Primous, Jr., sister, Ruby Jewel Rowe and her God-daughter, Anita Brown.
