Brian Adam Freistat passed away on December 19, 2024, in Bakersfield, California. Born on March 19, 1975, in Portland, Oregon, to Michael and Joan Freistat. Brian spent his early years in Northridge, California. A proud graduate of Granada Hills High School, Class of 1993, Brian pursued his passion for technology by earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Technology from ITT Technical Institute, graduating with honors. His career spanned several esteemed roles, including positions at ARRC Technology/CharTec, Synnex Corporation, Equus Computer Systems, and Vertical Axion LLC. Most recently, he served as Senior Account Manager at SecurityStudio, a role he cherished until the company’s closure in September 2024.
In 2009, Brian met the love of his life, Tana Kephart. The two were married in 2013 and built a life filled with love and shared adventures. A devoted husband and father, Brian is survived by his wife Tana; children Gianna, Zayle, and Tyler; stepson Sky; his mother Joan and her husband Michael Kleinbrodt; stepmother Debbie Freistat; siblings Michael, Tracy, Sarah, and Heidi; cousins Brandon and Brianda; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his father. Brian was a dedicated member of the Bakersfield Breakfast Lions Club for over 15 years and was passionate about giving back to his community. Known for his warm personality and boundless enthusiasm for life, Brian never met a stranger—only friends waiting to be made. An avid sports fan, he proudly supported the Kansas City Chiefs and Oklahoma Sooners with unmatched spirit.
Despite facing significant health challenges in recent years, including a lengthy recovery from severe sepsis and placement on the National Heart Transplant list, Brian’s resilience and determination inspired all who knew him. He continued to embrace life fully, traveling to Las Vegas and Kansas City whenever possible to create cherished memories. Brian will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family and friends and the joy he brought to everyone he met. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
