He was born in Canadian Township, OK and spent most of his life in California where he and his wife raised their family and he enjoyed his career as a minister. He was survived by his wife of 66 years, Lois Powell by 16 days. He is survived by their children: Kathy Smithee of Bakersfield, CA, Sharon Garcia of Kent, WA, Steve Powell of Albuquerque, NM and Glenda Baker of Stockton, CA. Also by his brother, Tom Powell of Bakersfield, CA; 6 grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
