Carlos "Ed" Aparicio
January 22, 1944 - December 23, 2017
Carlos was born January 22, 1944 as Edmond Patrick to the late Isaiah Patrick and Vera Mae Towner Patrick in Union, Mississippi. He was the fourth of twelve children. He is preceded in death by sister, Girthie Lee, and two brothers, I.V. and Claudie.
On Saturday morning, December 23, Carlos went home to be with the love of his life, Kathryn "Kathleen" Keathing.
Carlos received his education and graduated at the top of his class as valedictorian at CH Bolor High School in Decatur, Mississippi. After high school he moved to California to play Minor League Baseball. During this time he met and fell in love with his late wife, Kathryn. After his time in the minor league, Carlos and Kathryn moved to El Centro, California where their daughter, Vontay was born. Carlos went to work in agriculture as a foreman, where his impressive 6'6" frame earned him the nickname, "The Hitman".
He leaves to cherish his memories, his one and only daughter, Vontay and husband Ahmad Moya, four beautiful grandchildren: Eric, Kamela, Kamari and Jamar; six great- grandchildren: Eric Jr., Lauren, London, Mylah, Kena, and Kayden; 2 sisters, Erma J. (Earl) and Eva M. (Herman) of Decatur, Mississippi; brothers, Lester J. (Viola) and Jessie J. (Mattie) of Flint, Michigan, Isaiah (Linda) of Jackson, Mississippi, Bobby and Willie (Martha) of Decatur, Mississippi, Billy J. (Iris) of Newton, Mississippi, and a host of nieces and nephews, and one special niece, Marcasha Brown.
