Carmelita V. Castro Estrada known as Bebe was born September 5, 1925. She was born a living Angel to Augustine Castro and Pauline Behill Castro. A Wonderful Mother, Wife, Sister, Aunt, Grandmother and Friend. There was never a time she did not carry herself gracefully with dignity and pride. Her glow was unforgettable and her beauty shined through her with all the love she shared. Bebe joined her husband Salvador T. Estrada , children Sal Jr, Patrick, Rene, Kenny grandson B.J. brothers Chris, Elmer, Curly and Tom Valenzuela. Born and raised in Bakersfield, CA where she graduated from Kern High School. Dedicating her life to raising her children, she was a real pioneer of Kern County. She actively promoted the research and education as a Native Chalon Indian to preserve her heritage and culture. She attended St. Francis Church and her Love for Christ, his Church was admirable. She opened her home to all, loved spending time with her family and enjoyed her trips to the casino. Bebe passed on December 28, 2016 at home with her children at her side. Surviving children Louise Apodaca, Juanita Lomas, Suzanne and Richard Chow, Frenchie, Val, Carmen, Ginger Estrada and Art Hernandez. Grandmother of 60 plus grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Sister Irene and her husband Pete Soto, brother Martin Castro along with numerous nieces and nephews. A Rosary will be Thursday January 5, 2017 at 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. held at St. Francis Church located on 900 H street. Mass will be Friday January 6, 2017 at 12 p.m. held at St. Francis Church followed by a Christian burial at Union Cemetery.
