Carmen Alderete Santibanez

Carmen was born to parents Angela and Crespin Alderete on July 18, 1923 in Bakersfield, CA and passed away on January 14, 2018. Carmen married Louis Santibanez and had one child, Elizabeth. She enjoyed spending time with her family, volunteered as a poll worker for elections and enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and Morro Bay, CA. Carmen is survived by her loving daughter, Elizabeth Ornelas; grandchildren: Angela Ornelas, Janean Sousa, Kathleen Caloiaro and husband Rob Caloiaro; great grandchildren; Alicia Graham and husband Chris College(of London) and Devin Graham, Haley and Justin Sousa and Gianna Bozzo; her brother, Samuel Alderete (of Maine) and sister, Mary Louise Alderete of Bakersfield, CA. Carmen is preceded in death by her loving parents, Angela and Crespin Alderete, her husband Louis Santibanez, her brothers Salvadore, John, Gregory, Manuel, Fortino, Cirilo, and Alfonso and her sisters Lucy and Marcelina and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Carmen's caregivers at Kramer's Serenity, especially Sandy. Also, we would like to thank Maria Gonzalez at Sweet SunBlaze. She was especially close to Carmen. Thank you to all the nurses at Hoffman Hospice for the loving care that you gave Carmen. A Rosary will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Church on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 9:30 am. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery.
