Charlene Wilma Daniels
November 26, 1944 - July 15, 2018
Charlene Daniels, Born in Bakersfield, CA on 11/26/44 passed on 7/15/18. She was survived by her sister, Loretta Cole; her 3 children, James Gann, Janet Wimberly and Jensine Traynham; 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
She was a beautiful, loving, caring and giving person. Her heart was always open. Her arms always ready. Her friendly, wise words will live with us for generations to come. Charlene worked as a waitress at the Rice Bowl for over 40 years, while raising 3 children. She had very vivid dreams of working there until her last days. Charlene was a very talented artist. In her early days she was a gifted china painter. She had a precise hand and loved painting flowers, birds and scenes. As her interests expanded she set her focus on jewelry. She designed some of the most unique and exquisite pieces out of gold and silver using precious gems to create outrageous one of a kind works of wearable artistry. Later in life she found a passion for sculpting clay. She would go on to create beautiful pieces that included many different animals. She made pieces that resembled people in our family. He Indians with feathers and peace pipes. She made sure to include her love and sense of humor in all of these clay works. In the end, not being able to do much, she would lay on her bed making flowers and attach them to driftwood. So simple. So delicate and oh so clever. God blessed us with one of His true treasures, worth more than all the diamonds in the world. For that, we are internally thankful. We are thankful for the time we were graced with her presence. We thank you for sharing on of your most precious treasures with us. The love in our family flows strong and deep, leaving us memories to cherish and keep.
A celebration of life will be held August 6, 2018 at the Rice Bowl beginning at 5:00 p.m.
