Christina Elena Hernandez

Christina (Tina) Elena Hernandez Devoted Wife, Mother and Nana July 18, 1949 – July 30, 2023 Tina was born and raised in Bakersfield, CA. She was the oldest child of eight. She was an amazing woman who had the ability to love unconditionally and center herself as the “Rock” in our family. She carried herself with such grace, class and love. She was employed with the County of Kern for 19 years. She was a loving wife, mother, nana and sister. Tina is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Helen Lomas; sister, Clare Carmona, and brother Joseph Lomas. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Henry Hernandez; children, Jesse and Eva Soto; Monica Rios; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Brothers Richard, David and Mark Lomas. Sisters, Belen Arredondo and Elvira Lomas, numerous nephews, nieces and godchildren. Our family would like to thank all of our family, friends and Dr. Nguyen and staff with Rio Bravo Cancer Center. Visitation will be held at Basham Funeral Care (3312 Niles St) on Thursday, August 15, 2023 from 5-8 p.m. with Rosary recited at 6p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery.
