Daniel "Danny" Ortiz, age 64 passed away in Bakersfield, California on January 11, 2018. He was born on September 27, 1953 to Raymond and Grace Ortiz. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Jenny O. Garcia.

He is survived by his siblings, Carmen Suniga, Margaret Garcia, Mary Gutierrez, Anita Ortiz, Dolores Apodaca, Ray Ortiz Jr., Mike Ortiz, John Ortiz Sr.; His longtime companion Bill Derington; numerous nieces; his special great niece Khloe; nephews and godchildren. Also, his loving cats, CeCe and Miss Kitty.

Daniel attended East Bakersfield High School and Bakersfield Jr. College. He was a talented cabinet maker and a die-hard Miami Dolphin fan. He will always be remembered for his infamous dolphin sounds. He was a kind, funny, loving son, brother, uncle and Nino. He will be truly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, on Fri. Jan 26, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. (601 E. California Ave. Bakersfield, CA) Burial to follow at Union Cemetery
