Danny Michael Rueda, 57, passed away on 07/26/2021 at Adventist Health Hospital in Bakersfield, California. He was born on 09/08/1963 in Wasco, California to Frank R. Rueda and Gloria G. Rueda. Danny grew up in Wasco, California. He graduated from Wasco High School in Wasco, California in 1983. After high school, Danny enlisted in the United States Army. Upon being discharged from the Army, Danny worked for the Wasco Union Elementary School District as a bus driver where he worked for 20 years. Danny married Petra in 1995 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were happily married for 26 years. Danny was a member of the Wasco Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #6742, A 4th degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Wasco Union Elementary School Board, Bakersfield Ronald McDonald House, and the Wasco State Prison Community Board. He also received many awards from multiple associations and one of the highest honors he received was being named the Wasco Grand Marshal of 2019 alongside his wife, Petra Rueda. He enjoyed attending the San Francisco Giants baseball games, San Francisco 49ers football games, volunteering his time at the Bakersfield Ronald McDonald House, Annual Pancake breakfast for the VFW, and hosting the Annual Wasco Car Show. Danny is survived by his loving wife, Petra; his daughter, Victoria; and his son, Jose Santos; his brothers, Ralph and Martin; his sisters, Jenny, Mary, and Christina; his grandchildren, Jaxson and Eli; and many nieces, nephews, and relatives. Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Gloria, and brothers, Frank, Pete, and Paul Rueda. A rosary/viewing will be held on Sunday, August 1st at Palm Avenue School at the Richard K. Redding Gymnasium at 1017 Palm Avenue at 6pm in Wasco, California. The mass will be held on Monday, August 2nd at St. Johns the Evangelist Catholic Church at 1300 9th Place at 9am in Wasco, California. The burial will follow after the mass services at the Wasco Cemetery at 300 Leonard Avenue in Wasco, California. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the Bakersfield Ronald McDonald House.
