David Wayne Austin

David was born February 5,1959 in Bakersfield, CA, to Wayne and Lois Austin. He was the eldest of four children. David attended schools in Edison School District, before graduating from Foothill High School, in 1977. From there, he went to work as a Ranch Foreman for Kirschenman Enterprises. After more than 20 years of working for Kirschenman, he decided to join his cousin's business, and stayed with K & R Towing, until his illness prevented him from working any longer.

David was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as sleeping under the stars. He also loved Nascar and loved attending races anytime he could. David also enjoyed the time spent buying and selling collectables with his buddies.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne & Lois. Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Dwayne, Jonathan, Christian, and Tanner Austin, siblings, Sandy Austin, Karen Mills and husband Dewey, and Mike Austin, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and all who were fortunate enough to call him friend.

Viewing will be held at 5:00 pm Wednesday, 2/28/18 at Basham Funeral Home on Niles St. and graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, 3/1/18 at Hillcrest Cemetery.
