David Lee Bloomquist

David Lee Bloomquist, born March 17, 1939 in Galesburg, IL, passed away on June 24, 2016 at his home in Bakersfield, CA.

David Lee Bloomquist was born in Galesburg IL to Harold and Frances Bloomquist. In the late 1940's his family moved out west and settled in Bakersfield California where David would start his family, start his business, and make many close friends. In August of 1978 he married Cherie who would remain by his side for the rest of his life. In the early 1980s he had two sons, John and Carl. David enjoyed being a husband and a father and was very dedicated to his family.

David loved playing sports and loved coaching sports. He loved baseball, chess, and golf but later in life he became an avid pool player. David made a lot of friends by playing pool and helped many people learn the game. Pool was an opportunity for him to have fun and spend time with his family.

Many people would think of David as being very serious and at times he was. However, the people that got to know him saw a big smile, heard a big laugh, and felt loved. He was a great husband, father, brother, coach, and friend. He will be missed.
