Deborah Lyn Howlett

January 21, 1956 — January 9, 2018

Debbie passed away January 9th in her hometown of Bakersfield, Ca. Debbie was a South High and Bakersfield College Graduate. She retired from Kern County Child Support Division after 25 years of service. Debbie loved her family, especially her son-Justin, nephew-Connor, nieces- Kelsey & Kaitlyn. She welcomed two step daughters, Shannon & Erin when she married their father John Howlett. Debbie loved to camp, craft, read, bake and garden. She loved to camp at Pismo, Wishon Reservoir and Bridgeport. Debbie also like to have book exchanges with her sister Pam, mother Charlene and Aunt Pat. Debbie was the ultimate Girl Scout and helped her nieces with many of their troop projects. She also loved animals, her German Shepard Lexi is lost without her, as we all are. She became an unexpected Dodger fan about ten years ago. Debbie loved the color red so please feel free to wear it to her service. Services will be held January 27th, 11:00 at Basham Funeral Care on Niles Street. A second service will be held January 29th, 10:00 at the National Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome to either or both services. Debbie is preceded in death by her father G.W. Mathis and Aunt Pat Tourville. Debbie is survived by her son Justin Rolfson, Mother Charlene Mathis, Husband John Howlett & family and Sister Pam Brunni and family.
