Delia "Mima" Linda Rivera

January 31, 1948 — August 27, 2019

Delia Linda Rivera, lovingly Known as "Mima", age 71, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2019. She was surrounded by close family and friends. Each doing as Delia would have loved, sharing stories of their time with Delia and listening to many of Delia's favorite songs. Sharing many laughs and many tears.

Delia was born in Coachella, CA on January 31, 1948. Delia's parent Jesus and Angela Rivera, also known to many of you as "Big Grandma", moved Delia to her hometown of Lamont, CA. At age 6 months. There she remained until She was welcomed in Heaven by both her Parents, her brothers Joe, Carlos, Richard and Jesse. Her sisters Josie and Carol. I can also imagine that one of Delia's best friends and Sister-n-law Irma Aguilar was waiting impatiently to catch up.

Delia was a woman of open arms and an open home. There were no strangers in her life. Delia spent her life taking care of all her loved ones. Always food on the stove ready for whoever needed a plate. She loved hanging out with the girls. Her grand-daughter's Amanda, Andrea and all their friends. Which to Mima, they were all her granddaughters. Delia was the one they all felt comfortable going to with their deepest secrets knowing she would give her best advice, even if it wasn't what they wanted to hear.

Delia was a true Dallas Cowboys fan and would always be found watching a game during a season, cussing and yelling at the TV as if she were right there in the stands. On most days you could find Del sitting on her front porch, greeting her neighbors as they passed by. Even the ones she had no idea who they were.

But most of all Delia had a strong faith and love for God. She felt truly blessed to have her boys. She may have complained about Rick, Frank and Junior but she loved them very dearly. Along the way Delia ended up with a fourth Son, one of Rick's childhood friends, Eddie just melted into the family and became one of her boys.

But let's be real.. her grandchildren stole her heart. She helped raise both grandchildren and great-grandchildren as if they were her own.

Delia is survived by her sons Richard, Frank, Jr, and Eddie. Daughter-n-laws Wendy and Trish. Grandchildren Amanda and spouse Val, Andrea and spouse Josh, Hayley and Brenden. Great-grandchildren Jonathan, Jayden, Madison, Ayden, and Avary. Sister-n-law Dora, Brothers Johnny and wife Esther, Tony and wife Ester, brother Mike and many, too many to mention, extended family members.

This woman was truly loved by all. She will forever be remembered. We will shed many tears as we say goodbye, but we will also share many smiles as we remember our different moments with Del.
