Deloris Jean Christian November 7, 1941 - December 15, 2023 Deloris Jean Christian was born on November 7, 1941 in Green Forest, Arkansas to Walker and Bonnie Christian. She had many fun adventures in Green Forest with her big brother, Dean, and her little sister, Kaye. The family moved to Arvin, California in November, 1949 where she attended Haven Drive School and then went on to graduate from Arvin High School in 1959. Soon after graduating from Arvin High, Jean began her career working in medical offices and eventually became a medical transcriptionist for various medical organizations when she moved to Portland, Oregon in 1969. She loved her life in Portland but Bakersfield was where her heart and family remained. She returned to Bakersfield in 1981 and in 1983 she began her 20 year career working in the Student Medical Center at California State University, Bakersfield. She retired from CSUB in 2003 and enjoyed spending more time with family and friends. Jean was the doting daughter, the loving sister and the amazingly creative aunt that could fix anything around the house and make the most fabulous brunches look effortless. She was dearly loved by friends and family. Jean is preceded in death by her parents, her long-timecompanion Sharon Eilts, sister-in-law Shirley Christian and brother-in-law David Royer. She is survived by her brother Dean, sister Kaye Royer and her five beloved nephews Kelly (Pam), Mike (Lori), Scott (Vincent), Neil Royer (Lisa) and Todd Royer (Kristina), along with many great nephews and nieces. She also leaves behind many treasured friends.
