Dennis Fraser Quinn

Dennis Quinn (Pop, Papa, Pop-Pop) Dennis Fraser Quinn passed away and Shafter, California. August 1, 2021. He was born on February 16, 1944, in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada, to Sydney and Mary Quinn. Dennis grew up in Nova Scotia And loved working with horses grooming and training them for harness racing. Dennis came to the United States in 1964 and joined a harness racing circuit that brought him to Shafter to the local stables. He met his wife Christine who was from Shafter. Dennis worked many other jobs while raising his family. Dennis retired in 2006 from the city of Shafter. Dennis met the love of his life Christine Marie Mahan in Shafter. They were married in 1967, in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were happily married for 32 years. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Sydney and Mary Quinn of Sydney, nova, Scotia. His wife Christine (2000). Brother Micheal (Joanne) Quinn of Kentucky. Patrick Quinn of nova Scotia. Sister Sheila MacDonald (Charlie) and Anne Barkhouse (Andrew) of Nova Scotia. Dennis is survived by his daughter Karen (Hien) Tran of Shafter, son Robert (Jocelle) Quinn of Hermiston. Siblings Daniel Quinn, Kevin (Gail) Quinn and Timothy Quinn of Nova Scotia, Canada. His Grandchildren Ritchie Tran (Valerie), Halen Tran of Shafter. Taunie (Trask) Werner and Makayla Brock of Hermiston, Oregon. Great grandchildren Emery and Raye Marie Tran of Shafter. Many nieces, nephew, other relatives & friends. A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 15, 2021, from 5:00 P.M.to 9:00 P.M. At Basham & Lara Funeral Care, 343 State Ave. Shafter, CA 93263. Graveside service will be held on Monday, August 16, 2021, at 10:00 A.M. at Shafter Cemetery, 18662 Santa Fe Way, Shafter, CA, 93263.
