Diane Dolores Garcia

January 27, 1946 — October 3, 2018

Our beloved Diane Delores Garcia was born on January 27, 1946 in Bakersfield, Ca. From the beginning, she was a very strong women with a very strong personality. She attended East High School and married her beloved husband, Raymond Alvardo Garcia, Sr. Together, they had 3 children: Raymond Jr., Vivian, their only daughter, and Andrew. They created a family together, surrounded by many extended family members and numerous friends. Diane worked for the schools in the cafeteria for years, which suited her well as everyone who knew her knew, she had a passion for cooking, which was easily noted, because she was amazing at it. Cooking, baking, and dancing were the very things that Diane loved and as the years went on, she developed a new type of love and that was her love of being a grandmother. Diane loved to be surrounded by her grandchildren, having sleepovers, cooking their special meals, and taking them on outings with her. She loved creating beautiful dresses for special occasions and enjoyed taking her grandsons to breakfast in exchange for help when she needed. Diane was a very strong woman, one who was not afraid to tell you how she felt. Yet, when you asked her to listen, she was an amazing person to vent to and easy to talk to when you needed someone to hear you. Diane was never one to judge her affection for you based on your lifestyle; she didn't care where you came from or how you got there, as long as you were a good person. She loved camping, going to the casino with her sister Della or her friend Raymond, or pretty much anyone who wanted to have a good time. She enjoyed the beach, camping, but it was just the idea of getting into the car and getting away that excited her. Through her battle with breast cancer, she still kept her spirits high and to many, she never showed any signs of illness because she refused to let it get the best of her. And her perseverance prevailed. And though she is no longer with us, the admiration her family and friends have for her is amazing, because even in her time of weakness, she remained strong in her own right and when she knew she was ready, she went in peace.

Diane is preceded in death by Raymond Alvarado Garcia, Sr. the father of her children, her mother, Lydia Santa Cruz, sisters Ruth (Cuca) and Della (Yvonne) who was also her best friend. Her brothers, David and Freddie Reyes and her Uncle Frankie, who she held near and dear to her heart. A special thank you to Margaret, her goddaughter, for always being there for her and taking care of her in her last days, we know that she felt comfortable and peaceful with you by her side and she loved you like her daughter. Diane is survived by her son. Raymond Jr. daughter, Vivian and her husband Bobby, and her son Andrew, Her granddaughters: Sabrina, Fallon and husband Dillon Olson, Courtney and husband Ruben Arriaga and grandsons: Raymond and Bobby. Her great grandkids: Presley Rose, Mason, her breakfast buddy, Aubrey Janae, her sunshine and love of her life Grant, her other baby, Ethan Andrew, Rumor Leeann and her newest love, Wyatt Alexander.
