May 6, 1937 — June 1, 2016

Ebodio "Chino" Carmona, 79, passed away peacefully on Wednesday June 1st, 2016 in his Bakersfield residence.

Born in Brawley, California, he was the son of Atelano and Elvira Carmona. He served in the US Military for over 10 years with Badge SS and Bar Rifle accomplishments. Ebodio was an incredibly intelligent man who enjoyed new endeavors. He established Carmona Trucking back in the 1960s. In his spare time, he enjoyed building street rods, traveling to Classic car shows, winning National Titles, and watching movies with his wife.

Ebodio is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mirthala R. Carmona. He was very proud of his 4 children, Elvia Castro and her husband of Lamont, Gilbert and his wife of Bakersfield, Dalia Garcia and her husband of Bakersfield, and Gary and his wife of Bakersfield, his sister Jennie Young of Fresno, Phil Carmona and his wife of Bakersfield, as well as 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nephews, and many other friends.

The family would like to express their full gratitude to Bakersfield Memorial Hospital, HealthSouth, DaVita Dialysis, Dr. Caroline Wong, Dr. Thomas Lee, Dr. Saman Ratnayake, Dr. Robert Catania, Dr. Fardad Esmailian, Dr. Christopher Hamilton, Dr. Varasani, and Around the Clock Home Health. Their dedication and effort to provide quality care over the last 2 months were a heart-warming blessing to the entire family. We thank God for the gift of his life and the blessing of the time we spent with him.

A viewing is scheduled for Wednesday June 8th from 5:00-8:00pm at Basham Funeral Home, 8601 Hall Road Lamont, California followed by a memorial service on Thursday, June 9th at 10:00am at St. Augustine Church. Father John Schmoll will officiate. Final resting place will be at Arvin Cemetery.
