Eddie William Barth

Eddie William Barth June 5, 1947-January 9, 2021

Eddie William Barth was born on June 5, 1947 in Corning, California to John and Alice Barth. The family moved to Lamont, California where he grew up and graduated from Arvin High School. Shortly after, he joined the U.S. Army where he served in the Vietnam War. After his time in the service, he and his father became Boy Scout troop leaders. He also worked in security and as a freelance photographer. While working as a photographer he met his wife, Shirley. They married and lived in Bakersfield, California where they raised their three children, Brandon, Travis and Meagan. Eddie then worked as a dispatcher for Brink's Armored Inc. for 28 years.

Eddie went home to be with The Lord on January 9th, 2021 in Bakersfield, California. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Alice Barth; siblings Connie Barth and Leona Edgerle and husband Larry Edgerle. He leaves behind his devoted wife Shirley Barth; children, Brandon, Travis and Meagan Barth; brothers, Wayne Barth and Dennis Barth as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Eddie enjoyed square dancing, teaching his children to play games from his childhood, photography, camping, and making people laugh. We will always remember and be thankful for his love and devotion to each of us. We cherish the time we had together and will miss him terribly, but we know that he is with Jesus, Our Lord and Savior and we will see his smiling face when He calls us home.

A service will be held on Thursday, January 21st at 11:00am at Valley Baptist Church, 5500 Olive Drive with Pastor Ty Barksdale delivering the eulogy. Eddie will be laid to rest at a later date during a private burial service at The Bakersfield National Cemeteryof the Lord forever.
