Edna Fay White

God put an Angel here on earth named Edna Fay McFadden to live her journey of life.

Edna was born June 6, 1952, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Edna was the first-born child to Evangeline and Vernall McFadden. Edna was blessed to have 5 siblings join her life, brothers named Vernall McFadden, James Nelson, Taylor Nelson and sisters named Ethel McFadden, and Izola Nelson. They all lived in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

In 1960 Edna’s, journey of life continued, she moved to Bakersfield, California, attended Elementary, Jr. High and East Bakersfield High school, where she had a compassion heart, not filter, down to earth, and kept it real personality. Edna meets Willie Lane and gives birth to her oldest child named Stacey Lane. Edna then went on in her journey of life and married Melvin White and gave birth to her baby girl Patricia White.

Edna moved forward in her journey of life and being to work in the cotton fields, nursing field, and health care profession. Edna made ends meet to provide for her family, fought for what is right and stood up for her beliefs.  She moved to San Jose, Los Angeles, and back Bakersfield to be close to her mother Evangeline. She accepted GOD has her Lord and Savior and got baptize at “Come as you are Minstery”.

Edna continued her journey of life and met Bobby Slaughter. The couple got married and, stepped into the name of LOVE wearing African Dashiki’s.  Edna always opened her door to loved ones with a compassionate heart. She enjoyed listening to old school music, dancing, sing, fishing, playing cards, watching sports, cooking, and having family functioning. Edna did not play when it came down to her family and friends, she was tougher than a hard cookie, and if she said it, then she meant it. she did not sugar coat nothing and always kept in REAL.

On July 25, 2022, Edna’s Journey of life came to an end because God opened the Golden gates for her to enter. In heaven she will reunite with her Mother Evangeline McFadden, Father Vernall McFadden, sister Ethel Mcfadden/Turner, nephew Darren Ray Gage, great granddaughter Iyciss Lenoir and a whole host of loving family members and friends. She leaves here to cherish her two daughters Stacey Lane of Bakersfield CA, Patricia Climmons of Bakersfield CA, Brother Vernell Mcfadden with (Mary) sister-in-law of Atwater CA, Brother in-law David Turner, 15 grandchildren all of Bakersfield CA, and 27 plus great grandchild and a host of loving family members and Friends. One ride or die friend Named Debra McGregory. Edna will be Deeply MISSED but she has started her JOURNEY IN HEAVEN .
