Edward Robert Favreau
Ed passed away on November 10th from COPD. He was born June 14, 1946, Flag Day, in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. He was the son of George and Margaret Favreau. He leaves behind his wife of forty- seven years, Susan, his daughter Jacqueline, grandchildren Carolyn and Mark, brother, George Favreau and sister Denise Casey. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Margaret Enser. Ed attended St. Mary's Catholic grammar school and high school in Lancaster, New York. He was a four- year varsity football player and wrestled for St. Mary's and graduated in 1964. Ed enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1966. He was a combat engineer and stationed to Da Nang, Vietnam as a minesweeper. Edward married Susan Valencia in 1969. They met while Ed was stationed at Camp Pendleton. They lived briefly in Buffalo, New York and returned to California in 1971. Edward graduated from the University of Southern California with a BS in Business and worked in the financial services field. He then went on to receive a Master in Education and became a high school teacher. He would say his goal as a teacher was to mold good citizens and future parents. He was passionate about history, science and politics. He enjoyed camping, fishing and just taking in the beauty of nature. He loved football and played semi pro and while in the Marine Corps. His two favorite teams were USC and the Patriots. Everyone who met him liked him. He was friendly, outgoing and a genuine good guy. More importantly, Ed was a wonderful husband, father and granddad and committed to making the best life he could for his family. Family was by far, the most important thing to him. He believed strongly in family values and his country. A funeral mass will be celebratedTuesday, November 22, 2016at Saint Angela Merici Church, Brea CA.
