Ester Lee Washington, 83 passed away on July 13, 2020 at her home in Bakersfield, CA. She was born on August 5, 1936 in Atoka, Oklahoma to Prince Jr and Lucille Hill.
Ester grew up in Atoka, Oklahoma. She attended Dunbar High School in Atoka, Oklahoma. She worked worked in the food service industry and in the healthcare field from the age of 16 until she retired.
Ester married George A. Watson in 1953 in Atoka, Oklahoma. They were married for 4 years and had three children. Jerry, Rhonda, and Gwen. Ester later met and happily married Loyce E. "Wash" Washington in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on June 14th, 1963. They were married until his passing. She was a member of the baptist religion. She enjoyed traveling the world with her husband and children, loved cooking, and watching Hallmark movies, especially the Christmas ones.
Left behind to cherish her memories are her children Jerry Watson Sr. (Ruthie Grandson) of Bakersfield, CA; Gwendolyn Brown of Lakewood, WA; her sister Joann (Bobby) Frazier of Atoka, OK; her brothers Jackie Ray Hill of Oklahoma City, OK; Dwayne (Emma) Hill of Atoka, OK; her paternal sisters LeDeat and Gladys Hill of Pauls Valley, OK; her grandchildren Tashon Watson, Marice Mcgirt, Shyvonne Giggers, Jerry Watson Jr, Desmond Collins, Jahmar Ivory, Patrick (Selina) Small, LaNee Brown, Richard Ivory, Chravonte Turner, Porche (Lyndon II) Thomas; her foster children William Weaver, Loyce Weaver; her great-grandchildren, Savontai Collins, Zanea Mcgirt, Zionna McGirt, Jazmin Collins, Xi'Aun Brown, Tavion Ivory, Nehemiah Small, Jahvon Ivory, Jahsea Ivory, Jahsia Ivory, Lyndon Thomas III., Michaiah Small, Mya Ivory, Lauryn Thomas, Anaiyah Small, Alyck Ivory, Xi'Aire "Money" Cook, Emerald Giggers, Ashanty Long and a host of nieces, nephew
Ester was preceded in death by her parents Prince Jr and Lucille Hill; her husband Loyce Washington; her daughter Rhonda (Clifton) Ivory; her foster son James Lee Randall; her brothers Nib Eli Hill, Ralph Hill, James "Bill" Hill, Cecil Hill, Otho Prince Hill; and her grandson Jerry Brown Jr.
A funeral service will be held at Basham Funeral Care 3312 Niles St, Bakersfield, CA 93306 at 12pm on July 25, 2020. The family will be greeting friends and relatives. Ester's wishes was to be cremated following the funeral service at Basham Funeral Care.
