Felix L. Montanio, Jr. of Bakersfield, California passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2022 with his family by his side.

Felix was a loving son, brother, uncle and best friend.

Felix was born on October 19, 1956 in Bakersfield, California to Felix and Evelyn Montanio. He attended local schools then went on to work for the Kern High School District for 25 years as a Community Specialist and Campus Security Guard. He loved working with his coworkers and his students. They were his extended family. He loved all his animals, they were his kids. He loved working with plants. He had a green thumb and plants flourished with his care. He love traveling to the coast.

Felix leaves behind his best friend/soulmate, William Walker; mother, Evelyn Montanio; sisters, Diane Diaz and Geri Montanio; brothers, Michael and Lawrence Montanio, several nieces and nephews; his godchildren, Marco Diaz, Laila Diaz and Ladon Ramos.

He is preceded in death by his father, Felix Montanio, Sr.; his baby brother, Timothy Montanio; grandparents; Angel and Florentina Montanio; Lucas and Panfila Padilla; great nephew, Marco Diaz III, several aunts, uncles and cousins.

The Montanio family would like to thank Rosewood and Hoffman Hospice for their help in the with the care of our beloved Felix in his final days.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 14^th at 11:00 a.m. with a rosary to be recited at 1:00 p.m.at Basham-Hopson Funeral Care Chapel, 620 Oregon Street, 93305. Celebration of life will be held at Jastro Park at 4:00 p.m.
