Flora Rubin "Nana" October 16th, 1963 - September 18th, 2021 Visitations to be held at Basham Funeral Care 3312 Niles Street on Tuesday October 19th, 2021, from 5:00PM- 9:00PM. Rosary to be recited at 7:00PM. Mass to be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church 1515 Baker Street Wednesday October 20th, 2021 at 10:00 AM Interment will follow at Hillcrest Park and Mortuary. On October 16th, 1963 Flora was born to Amelia and Paul Rin Rubin. Flora was raised in Lamont, CA and lived in Kern County all of her life. She was an Arvin High Alumni, class of 81'. For the last 18 years she dedicated herself to KCSOS Special Education Division as an Instructional Aide at Richardson Center. Flora was a blessing to everyone who knew her. A pure heart that pumped with endless amount of love. She was our guardian, always having her kids backs no matter the circumstances. She was a fighter and strong minded. Her willingness to never give up was impressive. She was always there and her door was always open. Flora enjoyed her free time with her two grandaughters and taking family road trips. She also enjoyed the casino playing bingo. Other aspects of her time were spent surrounded by family at gatherings and parties. She loved to dance to Old School Jams. One of her favorites "Funky Little Beat" by Connie. If you didn’t see her dancing you could hear her laughing with her contagious laugh. She is our beautiful mother. We love you so much and miss you dearly. Until we meet again. Flora is preceded in death by her loving Mother Amelia Rubin-Madrid; Father Paul Rubin Sr; Sister Frances Rubin; Brothers: Paul Rubin Jr, Tony Rubin, Juanito Garcia; Niece Francine Borja. Flora is survived by her Daughter Bianca Martinez; Son-in-law David Arevalo; Son Mikel Martinez; Granddaughters Alondra and Santana Arevalo; Niece Destiny Gonzalez; Stepfather Frank Madrid Sr; Brothers Eddie Sr and Mary Rubin, Frank and Teresa Madrid, Joe and Corina Madrid, Manuel and Christy Madrid; as well as countless nieces and nephews.
