Frances Melton passed away on the afternoon of August 19, 2017 in her home surrounded by her husband and 3 daughters.
Frances was born in Arkansas to Joe and Zelma Adams on October 2, 1933. Frances Adams went on to marry Charley Melton on February 24, 1952 in Bakersfield, Ca. Over their 65 years of marriage, they were blessed with 3 children, 7 grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Frances spent much of her life being a loving mother and supportive fireman's wife, enjoying leading the women's bucket brigade team to numerous victories. Later when her husband retired and they had several grandchildren, Frances shifted gears and became the world's greatest Mema and active in the Fireman's retiree association spending each spring assisting with Charley at the annual fireman's picnic.
Her caring nature took the form of various baked goods that her family and friends enjoyed. Frances was best known for her homemade rolls, uniquely decorated Halloween pumpkins cookies, her Christmas candies, and her homemade cinnamon rolls. There wasn't a holiday that went by without the presence of Mema's treats.
"Frances will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her."
