March 24, 1957 — April 6, 2022

Gabriel Gonzalez, 65, passed away on April 6, 2022, at Memorial Hospital in Bakersfield, CA. He was born on March 24,1957 in Aguascalientes, Mexico to Nicolás González Yañez and Ramona Casas Cortez.

Gabriel grew up in Guadalajara, Mexico. He was the oldest of 9 siblings. He began working from a very young age. He enjoyed working on cars and learned his trade as a teenager. He enjoyed nature,  He dedicated his life to the lord after being baptized on Dec. 31st, 1985, in Lamont, CA.  He was an active member and minister for 17 years in Lamont Church of Christ.  After much prayer, and conversation with Minister Jack, Gabriel established a Spanish speaking congregation at the East Bakersfield Church of Christ on Sep. 11, 2002.  He ministered for another 17 years until he fell ill. Throughout all his service to the church, he worked to provide for his family. He leaves a great legacy of service, hard work, and faith.

Gabriel is survived by his loving wife, his children, siblings, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Iglesia de Cristo East Bakersfield, 3500 E. Bernard Street, Bakersfield, CA 93306.
