Born at Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield, It is with deep and heavy sadness that we announce the death of Gabriel Galindo Martinez who went to Heaven on Thursday, March 16, 2017 in Bakersfield, California from brain injuries sustained in a tragic accident.Born at Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield, California on February 7, 1973 to Louis and Oralia Martinez, Gabriel was a spontaneous person who lived and loved life. Gabriel is preceded in death by his wife Carolina Ramirez Martinez and his daughter Nydia Martinez. He is survived by his sons Gabriel Galindo Martinez Jr. and Steven Gabriel Martinez; his siblings and their spouses, Jeanette Rivas and Cholo Vega, Sissy and Alex Asuncion Sr., Louis Martinez Jr. and Kathy Martinez; numerous nieces (his favorites Sophia Rivas and Stephanie Hernandez) and nephews; great nieces and nephews; his longtime friends Frank Bolaños and Jose Gonzalez.Services will be held at Basham Funeral Care on Wednesday, March 29th. Visitation is from 5:00pm-7:00pm and the service is from 7:00pm-9:00pm. A morning service will be held on Thursday, March 30th at 10:00am and a celebration of his wonderful life will follow.The family would like to thank extended family and friends who have been here for us during this saddest time of our lives.
