George Steven Sperbeck wentto be with the Lord on August 5, 2018, passing away gently in his sleep. George and his family have been residents of Bakersfield, CA since August of 1989. George was the middle son of 12 children and was the first child of Clarence and Rosemarie Sperbeck to be born in a hospital on November 25, 1939 in Norwich, New York. By most accounts George was a bit precocious as a child living up to the challenges of the middle son of a large family. George had said when you grow up in a big family you have to learn to take care of yourself.
On January 9, 1958, George joined the United States Marine Corps, which he proudly served 6 years. He successfully received decorations and awards in small firearms and sharp shooter on May 8th 1968 George decided his destination was California. He moved to Van Nuys, California where he owned and worked in the restaurant business, home improvement sales and roofing. In 1991, he became a long-haul truck driver.
In 1978, he met the love of his life Charlotte. They fell in love, but it wasn't until November 2006, George and Charlotte became husband and wife (30 plus years later).
George is greatly missed already, He was a wonderful husband who was thoughtful, bring his wife flowers and gifts just because. He was a great dad that always put the needs of his family before his own. George and Charlotte where in the delivery room with both their daughters when all their grandchildren came into the world.
It is important to mention three people George loved very much and whom he was proud of. His big brother, Jerry Sperbeck, he loved and respected you so much. His niece Roseann Czarnocki of Utica, New York, he thought the world of you; and his nephew, Eddy Sperbeck, your uncle was so proud of your hard work and determination becoming a police officer and detective.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Steven Core; 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, Thomas, Matthew, Asheley, Amada, Brandon, Brittney, Andrea, Phoenix, Alexus, Valisity, Kaylyn, Samatha, Bradley, Isabella, Nevaeh and Emma. 2 brothers, Jerry and Charlie; 2 sisters, Sherry and Christy.
