Georgia Maybell Wells was born on February 22, 1928, in Hartshorne, Oklahoma to Thomas and Ann Shatswell.
In 1946, Georgia met and married Herman Eugene Wells, and had one daughter, Sherrion.
Georgia was devoted to her family and was happiest when she was caring for others. She was the "Florence Nightingale" of our family. It didn't matter if the need was physical or spiritual, she was there in a moment's notice to provide comfort and care. She was a prayer warrior and the true definition of a Godly woman.
Georgia is preceded in death by her husband, Herman; sister, Dee Gable; and brother, Ernie Shatswell. She is survived by her daughter, Sherrion (Lee) Johnson of Bakersfield; grandchildren, Debbie and Michael Johnson of Bakersfield; sisters Claudine Tsitakis of Bakersfield and Jeannie (Jack) Burgemaster of Las Vegas, NV; brothers Jim Shatswell of Bakersfield and Richard (Gail) Shatswell of Turlock, CA, as well as many nieces and nephews.
We will miss her deeply but are comforted to know that she is no longer suffering and is now in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior. There is no doubt she received a mighty welcome and heard "Well done, my good and faithful servant".
Graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 3700 River Blvd., Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at 10:00AM.
