On December 31, 1928, Humberto Samuel Garza Galicia was born in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon Mexico, to Humberto Samuel and Amelia Garza. He was raised in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico. In 1946, when Humberto was 17, he immigrated to the United Stated of America where he studied at John Brown University in Arkansas. For several years Humberto served the Bakersfield, California community as an appliance repair business owner.
Humberto was passionate about seeking biblical truth and following God as his personal savior. Humberto had a burning desire to know the truth about the Bible. He became Seventh Day Adventist at the age of 24. His ultimate desire was that his family learn to love God and have a personal relationship with Him. Whether reading to his daughters in his younger years or staying up to watch movies with his children and grandchildren; Humberto loved deeply and strived to be present in the lives of family and loved ones.
"My Dad was my Hero. He taught me the Word of Jesus, and most of all he was my friend, my confidant. He was the best example of a person to be loving and forgiving and to be there for one another. My Dad was my best date. He could make me laugh and we would watch movies that would make me cry and then make me laugh. Everywhere I go I will remember my Dad. Love you Daddy, Papi. Te quierro Mucho. Por Siempre forever. Jacueline Garza your Mija mas chica. The Twin. Your side kick and chiqle. Love you Pops,Papi Daddy."
"My Daddy was a prayer warrior and it did not matter where we were. We can pray to Him in any situation. Our battle is not against flesh and blood but against principalities. If we are in Christ we should not be easily offended."
