Irene Lopez Chavarria

Irene Chavarria

November 15, 1943 – January 5, 2025

Irene Chavarria was born on November 15, 1943, in El Centro, California

and went to her eternal rest after a brief illness on January 5, 2025. Irene was

preceded in death by her husband, Antonio Chavarria, grandson Roy David

Grijalva Jr., great – granddaughter Olivia Arvizu, and her mother Eulalia Chavarria.

Irene worked for Bakersfield City School District as a clerk for over 15 years

prior to retiring. She truly enjoyed her work helping teachers and staff members

children at Sierra Middle School. She was also a member of Curves Fitness Center

and loved her daily workouts with her gym buddies.

 Irene was a very honest, straight forward, loving woman. She always addressed

her family with the upmost heartfelt honesty and loved to see her children/grandchildren

thrive and succeed in life. The last four years, her great – granddaughter, Daphne Arvizu

gave Irene such purpose and a zest for life. She gave Daphnie a loving and stable home

environment that allowed her to grow healthy and thrive in school and make such

amazing forward progress.

 Irene is survived by her daughters and their spouses Carmen and Enrique Puente,

Sandra Abina, Rose-Ann and John Adkins, her son and spouse, Juan and Sheila Abina, her

Grandchildren Phillip and spouse, Sonia Arvizu, Danielle Puente and partner, Justin Hevle,

Enrique Puente Jr., Courtney Grijalva, Rafael, Juliet and Bridget Abina, Johnny Adkins, her

great-grandchildren Phillip Jr., Adrianna, Adam, Olivia, and Daphne Arvizu, Gabriel Fuentez,

Isabela and Shyne Trevino, Yasmine, Hopi and David Grijalva, Luke Puente Galindo, Jacob

and Daisy Arvizu, Ryan Cobos, Jameson Ortiz, and Mavis Ortiz.

 The family would like to give special thanks and appreciation to Dr. Patel staff,

Bristol Hospice for their care, professionalism and compassion.
