James A. Barclay, born January 12, 1922 in Marshfield, MO., passed away peacefully on Friday, September 1, 2017 in Bakersfield, CA. James was employed by the Southern Pacific Railroad for 38 years, initially in Mojave, and subsequently in Bakersfield. He served in the United States Marine Corp from 1943 to 1945, and was a talented drummer, playing with various bands in Bakersfield throughout his adult life.
James was preceded in death by his wife Marcella Barclay, and three step-sons. He is survived by his sisters Evelyn Creek of Springfield, MO., Anne Wilcox of Joplin, MO., and nephew James Wilcox of Joplin, MO., and many other nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren. His family would like to thank Zelma and Lou Roux for their compassionate and loyal friendship.
