April 4, 1927 — November 7, 2016

James was born in McAlester, Oklahoma on April 4, 1927, to William and Sarah Brown and was one of nine siblings. He moved to Bakersfield, California in 1940 and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He met and married his loving wife, Betty Jo Holmes in 1948, and they had three children; Candace Biagi (Curtis), James "Tony" Brown (Bonita) and Angela Baker (Brian).
