James Allen Pengilley D.O.B. 06/03/1956 D.O.D. 05/19/2021
James Allen Pengilley was born on June 3, 1956 in Taft, CA, to Jerry and Linda. He passed away on May 19, 2021 in Bakersfield, CA and went to be with the Lord. He lost his battle with liver disease. He fought to survive and he faced his health challenges with bravado! Sadly, he finally succumbed to the overwhelming battle.
James had a career as a pump mechanic in the civilian world after serving in the U.S. Army. He was employed over twenty years in the field, and came from a classic, working-class family that valued service to the Lord and hard work.
In his retirement, he enjoyed traveling as well to Las Vegas, Nevada to visit his son and daughter-in-law, and their two children. Of course, he enjoyed all the amenities and entertainment that Las Vegas offers.
James was a happy, reliable person that was always available to his friends and his family to help. He enjoyed collecting antique cars, which was one of his passions. In the picture, one of the cars is on proud display at a car museum.
James was survived by his son, James (Jim) Bookatz, His mom Linda, and other family members. He was also survived by his Rottweiler, Angus. Who he loved and cherished with all his heart! He believed in caring well for his dog, who greatly misses him. James's services will be held at 10:45 am on June 14, 2021 at Bakersfield National Cemetery, and is open for those that wish to attend.
