Jane Bernadette Ortega Avalos, 66 left us on 01/31/2016 with her family by her side.

Jane was born on March 18, 1949 in Bakersfield, California to Andrew Ortega and Jane Padilla Ortega. She attended Our Lady of Guadalupe School and graduated from East Bakersfield High School in 1967. Soon after she attended cosmetology school and spent many years doing what she loved, making friends and family beautiful. Jane also worked as a caretaker. Her caretaker position was her most honorable job. She loved helping people.

Jane is survived by her 2 sisters, 1 brother, her husband John Avalos their 3 children and spouses, 10 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents Felipe and Victoria Ortega, her parents Andrew Ortega and Jane Padilla Ortega, Sister Angela Ortega and Brother Andrew Ortega Jr.

Viewing will be held at Basham Funeral Home on Niles St. Feb.7, 2016 Sunday 5-8pm. Church services will be held at St. Joseph Church Monday Feb. 8, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. Our mother was a beautiful person and will be deeply missed. Her love will forever remain with us.
