In loving memory of our sister Janet Mora Dwight
1958 - 2018
Our beloved sister Janet was born in Bakersfield on Dec. 28th, 1958 and went on to receive her reward in Heaven on March 7th. Janet graduated from East Bakersfield High in 1977. She was part of the Drill team, which is not surprising because of her sparkling personality. One of her greatest accomplishments she took pride in was earning her associate arts degree at Bakersfield College. Our sister's desire had always been to be in the medical field so she became a medical assistant. Her last employment was with Doctors Anthony Valdez and Michelle Remmes. In 1991 Janet took on her most challenging yet rewarding job when she married Sam Dwight and became the mother to Kathy and Sam Jr. Our sister was also in the service of the Lord. She loved the Lord with all her heart, soul and mind. She was not ashamed to worship the Lord or give a testimony of God's goodness. Many times she led us in praise and worship. Her relationship with God was inspiring and she was a true prayer warrior. We could always count on our big sister to go boldly before the throne of God for us. When she became sick with CBGD it was our turn to go before the throne of God on her behalf. For those of us who had the privilege of knowing Janet and being loved by her, we are that much richer and blessed. She was the big sister who always liked to protect. No matter how old we were she still referred to me as her baby sister and I loved it! Sissy, you fought so long and hard and we are so proud of you! You were a true warrior so strong yet so humble. I had told you when you get to heaven you will see all the treasures you had laid up all through the years. Every good deed, every prayer you prayed, every victory and testimony and every tear you shed God used them all to build a beautiful memorial for you. If we could just take a glimpse of what you have taken in so far I am sure it is beyond words. Janet is preceded in death by our parents Inez and Julia Mora and she is survived by her husband Sam Dwight, daughter Kathy and son Sam Jr. and wife Melissa along with 7 grandchildren. Her two sisters Elaine Leal and husband Pete and her baby sister Lynn Mora. Her nephew Pete Leal Jr. and niece Trina Okazaki and great-nephew Dian Okazaki along with numerous friends and family. On behalf of Elaine and I, we would like to thank all of the friends and family who kept Janet before the throne of God and for having the faith that God to this day still performs Miracles!
Sissy, we all knew you deserved better and most importantly Jesus knew you deserved so much better so he made a way of escape for you and rescued you. He gave you your freedom and your reward in Him. To God be the Glory!. Janet your wonderful friends and family have contributed to this memorial because we felt it was time to give honor where honor is due. Sissy this is a testimony of the kind of person you were and still are. Forever in our hearts, you will live.
Give daddy and mama a hug and kiss from us and we will be seeing you, Sissy.
All our love to you Janet, we will miss you terribly.
Your Sisters, Elaine and your forever baby sister Lynn.
"But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it."
