Jeannine Odette Schelly

Jeannine Odette Schelly passed away the morning of July 11, 2019. She was born in San Diego California on October 28,1952, to Gordon & Judy Schumann. After moving to Bakersfield in 1974, she had 2 sons Jason & Matthew Hoose. On July 31, 1986, she married the love of her life Thomas Schelly. Jeannine and Thomas shared the love for classic cars, traveling, and enjoyed spending time with the family. She worked various jobs throughout her career in the newspaper industry. While working at the Bakersfield Californian as a supervisor in packing and distribution, she made many friends. Jeannine deeply loved her family, & was known by her children's friends as Ma. Being the only girl amongst her family her dreams came true when her beloved granddaughters were born, whom she truly adored. Jeannine was loved by many and will dearly be missed. She's preceded in death by her mother & father, Judy & Gordon Schumann; her husband, Thomas Schelly; and her son, Jason Andrew Hoose. She's survived by her brothers, Robert & David Schumann; her son, Matthew Hoose; her daughter in-law, Amara Hoose; her granddaughters, Ashley & Annabelle Hoose; friends & extended family. The funeral service will be held on Monday, August 12th at 9:00 am at the Greenlawn Cemetery: 3700 River Blvd, Bakersfield, CA 93305.
