Jeremy Devin Herbst

July 25, 1981 - July 12, 2018

Jeremy Devin Herbst, age 36, passed away on July 12, 2018. Jeremy was born in Panorama City and spent much of his childhood in Frazier Park. Many lives far and wide have been touched by his infectious charm and lively spirit. At age 11 he moved to Ohio and by age 14 he was settled in Louisiana. He graduated from Haughton high school in Louisiana in 2002. He moved back to California and spent the next 13 years moving between Los Angeles, Bakersfield and San Jose. He had spent many years focused on physical health and nutrition. He also worked as a massage therapist. He spent some time in San Jose working at what he described as his dream job as a massage therapist for Spectrum Health Center and at AKA gym. While there he assisted MMA fighters with their rehabilitation needs. Jeremy settled back in Bakersfield for the remainder of his life in 2014. Jeremy was known for his witty persona, his deep level of compassion and his effortless creativity. He will be remembered for his love of sports, his passion for music and for his guilty pleasure of finding hidden treasures. Jeremy is survived by his fiance and loving caregiver Ericca Wilkins, his grandmother Beverly Maurer, grandfather Joe Petersen, mother Lori Beckman, father and stepmother Jim And Toni Herbst, brother Shaun Herbst, sister Danielle Beckman, stepbrothers Devin Beckman, Derek Beckman and Whit Stafford, and many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins. A private memorial is planned for his family on July 21, 2018. A Celebration of Life is planned for all who loved Jeremy on July 28, 2018 at Canyon Hills Church 7001 Auburn Street, Bakersfield, CA. at 1:30 pm.
