Jesus Alvarez Hernandez

Jesus "Jesse" Alvarez Hernandez Sr., 82, died peacefully in his sleep late Tuesday, November 12 in Bakersfield, CA, from complications from Parkinson's Disease.Born in the El Monte, CA, Jesse met his late wife of over 50 years, Patrica Hernandez, and raised their family in Bakersfield, CA. Starting as a field worker, Jesse progressed into truck driving and was eventually able to go into business for himself as an owner/operator of his own truck driving business. Traditional and stern, he was proud of all of children and grandchildren. He is survived by his brother Lupe, his sister Ruth, his daughter Margaret, his daughter Jennie and her husband Gilbert, his daughter-in-law Desiree-wife to his late son Jesus Jr., his son Ruben and his wife Terie and his son Peter, 11 grandchildren and many close friends and family. The family would like to thank the following medical professionals for their time, skill and empathy: Rosewood Health Center and Optimal Hospice. Also, the family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and well wishes. A visitation will be held Tuesday, November 19th from 5:00-9:00 p.m. with a rosary prayer service starting at 7:00 p.m. at Basham Funeral Care (3312 Niles St).
