Jesus Perez Lopez

March 30, 1936 — September 10, 2020

Our dearest father, Jesus Prez Lopez passed away at the age of 84, on September 10th, 2020 at San Joaquin hospital in Bakersfield California. Jesuswas born on the 30th of March, 1936 in Chupicuaro, Viejo, Guanajuato. He was the son of Cornelio Prez Cruz and Maria Prez Lopez. In 1946 they were relocated to Nuevo Chupicuaro. He attended elementary school, he met, fell in love and married Estela Perea in 1963. They were married 57 years. He loved Chupicuaro and always looked forward to visiting every year.

Jesus started working at a young age. He was a hard worker. He worked as a salesman, selling art work in Leon, Guanajuato. He was involved in constructing of the presa de Solis, near his home town of Chupicuaro. He worked in a nursery where they would export their goods to Mexico City.

He migrated to the United States in the early 1960's where he lived in Indio, Arizona and settled in California. He lived in Watsonville and then moved to Shafter in the early 1970's, where he decided he wanted to raise his children. He worked as a farm labor for 65 years.

He had a love for reading, as he read everything he would get his hands on, newspapers, books, comic books, and magazines. It didn't matter what language it was English or Spanish, he tried to read it. He also enjoyed watching television his favorite shows were sports, his classic movies and Spanish novelas, of course. For his pass time he enjoyed going for walks throughout the day, attending Sunday mass, and spending time with his family. He liked to keep himself busy, doing whatever he could around the house and always listening to l Gallito 1010, Mexican music. He had a great love for sports, especially baseball, he loved his dodgers and went to quite a few dodger's games. Back in the days, he coached a baseball team, Los Tigeres, which he loved doing.

He is survived by his wife Estela Perez, daughters Maria Estella Perez, Maria Christina Ramirez, Patricia Perez, and three Sons, Sergio Perez, Mario Perez, Rogelio Perez and Sister Victoria Sanchez, 17 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren and 39 nephews and nieces. Hewas preceded in death by his son Jose Perez, sisters Socorro Trujillo and Ernestina Jaime, Brothers Tomas Perez and Javier Perez.

Family was very important to him. He loved his family and always had a story to tell. He loved when family and friends would stop for a visit. If no one was visiting, he would asked, "nobody came today?" Jesus was very giving and was a father figure to many of our extended family members. He was very loved by many. He will definitely be missed, but will never be forgotten.
