Joe Federico Leyva

Joe Federico Leyva February 13, 1945 - May 4, 2018

Our father was welcomed into the arms of the Lord, peacefully surrounded by his loved ones. Joe was born in Juarez, Mexico to Guadalupe and Isaac Leyva Sr. He was a resident of Bakersfield, California for over 70 years and retired from Kern Medical Center. Joe "Crazy Horse" enjoyed fishing, eating and spending time with family and friends, always joking and making people smile. He was a loving father, grandpa and great grandfather.

He is preceded in death by parents Guadalupe and Isaac Leyva Sr., brothers Ramon and Isaac Leyva. He is survived by daughters Roxanne Leyva-Palomares (Martin), Cynthia Frutos (Tommy), Yvonne Leyva, nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, sisters Guadalupe and Maria and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rosary will be Monday May 14th, from 5-8pm at Basham, Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday May 15th at 10am at Sacred Heart Church, interment will follow at Historic Union Cemetery.
