John Delfino Romero, Jr.

John D. Romero, Jr., born to Helena Gutierrez and John Romero of Bakersfield, CA on April 11, 1952, was called home to be with our Lord on January 5, 2019.
John was a loving son, brother, father, Welo, and friend to all that knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Helena and Zenon "Jesus" Gutierrez, and John Romero, Sr., and brother Norberto Gutierrez.
John is survived by the mother of his children, Connie Romero, sons Erik Romero and Sinjin and wife Mandy Romero, daughters Alexandria Romero and Dominque and husband Keith Heck, and his beautiful grandchildren, Carla Romero and Dallas Heck.
Along with his siblings, Alex and wife Mercy Romero, Gail and husband Andy Alvidrez, Concha and husband Teofilo Farias, Jesse and wife Kathy Gutierrez, cousin Delfina, and numerous nieces, nephews and family.
John was a free spirit with a big heart who loved to be outdoors. He enjoyed swapping stories with family and friends, dancing, and listening to "oldies but goodies". He was always the life of the party. Whether singing along to his favorite tunes, or shooting off his cannons, there was never a dull moment spent with John. His spirit will always be felt in our hearts and in the memories we shared.
Visitation will be held Monday, Jan. 21, 2019 at Basham Funeral Care located at 3312 Niles St, Bakersfield, CA 93306. All are welcome to attend to pay their respects to John from
5:00-8:00pm, with the Rosary scheduled to begin at 7:00pm.
A graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park atop their Hill of Valor on Tuesday, Jan 22, 2019 at 1:00pm.
